Hey June has released their latest pattern. It’s no secret I’m a fan of Hey June Handmade (aff link). I find their patterns to always be exceptionally drafted, the instructions are clear, and the format is professional. Not all of their patterns fit into my personal style, but the ones that do are some of my all-time favourite patterns.
The latest pattern is the Willamette Shirt (aff link), a woven popover top with three views, a one-piece collar and short dolman sleeves. I sewed view A in a size 16, my measured size from teh chart. I didn’t use the cuffs or a button, and I added 1.5″ of length to accomodate my height.
I used a rayon challis from LA Finch Fabrics, but of course it appears to be sold out now. Rayon challis is pretty much perfect for this pattern.
The back features a yoke with a pleat, and the instructions include three different options for creating the pleat. This view also features a curved high-low hem, which usually I don’t find terribly flattering, but something about this one has me smitten.
